Yes when I have dogs for more cuddles but usually on a specific couch I have a blanket on. Right now I have cats and they steal my chairs, and stools and blankets and pillows and...you get the point

 

Now we need to start a poll for who lets their vacuum sleep on the couch

I don't let my dog on my couches - my biggest reason is that my parents also have furniture, and they don't want dogs on it. Since a lot of non-dog people don't want dogs on their (much nicer than mine) couches, I don't want to have to yell at him for doing what's acceptable in my house. So... maybe if you're going to travel a lot and bring your dog everywhere, don't let them up on furniture?

With that said, I have ONE exception - he's allowed on my bed, but only when I tell him "okay, come on!!" He doesn't get up on my bed when I'm not there, and doesn't stay up there to sleep. To each their own.

Yes I allow my doggy on the couch and in bed with me at night. He has his own doggy bed next to my computer chair that has a soft fuzzy blanket in it that he lays in when I am at the computer. On the couch he has 2 soft fuzzy throw blankets that are his. Sparky was also a abused recuse dog, so yeah I spoil him a tad lol. I have had friends come over and were like, why on earth do you allow your dog on the furniture. I just told them, he lives here you don't, so you are lucky I let you on the furniture.

When we first got our newest boy he was super mischievous and completely untrained. While I was taking a shower one day the other human in the house was supposed to be watching him, but he got distracted by an emergency work call. Puppo managed to get a full 32-ounce bottle of olive oil off the kitchen counter, and figured out how to open it up on the couch. There wasn't a drop left in that bottle... That's the exclusive dog couch now
