Chrome can do some bullshit with inactive tabs unless you diddle with flags (rate limiting to 1000ms iirc). So PC can be in a window with 1000 other tabs and not take a perf hit, but when it becomes inactive... yikes.

yup i know, but im saying you dont HAVE to have a single tab/window for it. i have mts/pc in a window with just those two tabs. pc runs my daily hits i pick up/mts runs like 3 things for high pay. they both catch 90%+ of what i put in and i dont have the inactive processes issue.
now if they had said they were shooting up as many tabs as @ChrisTurk then yeah, sep window. but they said i think 3 things open? not worth a sep tab imo

 

As long as you're catching stuff, don't worry about the PREs so much. You have to be doing more than getting a few PREs to get suspended. They are more worried about people running things (like two PCs) simultaneously, which we used to be able to do but can't anymore.

Play around with your setup. But don't be afraid to add your other scripts back in. You can have way more than just PC running without needing to worry about it being a red flag.

 

It's also possible that you have a virus that causes you to have too many PRE's. Just follow this quick guide to remove it:

Rate limiting is not a universal concept. It's an mturk thing. Other web farms/servers don't respect that concept. They just add more bandwitth/server horsepower when they start exceeding hosting limits.

There was a time when you could access MTurk simultaneously through both the old and new websites. So you had 2 separate PRE pools.

 

never did that, but im more wondering about 2 logged in pcs/devices at once. i mean once i move, im going to have my pc and my mac logged in and running same time, so i had *never* heard anything about having 2 machines running that wasnt allowed
