Ex-long time turker here with a quick question. I recently got back into Turking. I used to Turk back in the "good" days as you would call it. Days when Matt Rubin and a lot of the top requesters were around, and many of us could easily earn $200. plus on any given day, and $100. on bad days.

Now that I'm back to Turking, even with the new scripts, you can tell things have slowed down a lot. I know I'm still not as efficient as I once was and still playing catch up, but high days for me right now are $80.00 and slower days $40. to $50.

My question is, back then I use to communicate, email, and touch base with a lot of requesters. How many of you think with some joint effort now knowing that Amazon is at least employing a few people to handle the Mturk division, which we used to couldn't seem to get support for. How many think we could get Amazon and these researchers into making Mturk the king of online money again if we worked on it? I'd love to see those good ol' days again now that I started Fitness Training again, because Mturk allows me to work at home all day and bang out the weights at the same time.

Anyone for this if we could figure something out?

 

do you know where the requesters went? I'm still trying to figure out where they went.

edit: also did you have username on the forums back in the day? some people might remember you by it.

 

Honestly, I'd just be "speculating." But from my understanding a lot of them to a hike when Amazon raised the cost per hit for requesters. Not sure how true that is, but that's what I've heard. I've also read that some of the big players like CrowdSource have also started their own venues or platforms which they were doing years ago.

 

And that bot scare didn't make it any better either.

Nope, but it did happen. I don't remember whether it was last year or the year before.

 

Also, are they still giving out the Masters Qualification? My account still has the "Masters" but have they still been handing out masters qualiications lately? That's usually been a pretty good indicator of the work flux with mturk over the years.

 

I don't use Reddit. If that's the case, I'd take it over to Panda Crazy lol

Not here to start crap, but the kind of post above were actually the same ones that ran a lot of people off and the reason people started going to Panda only, and left the forums a long time ago. I know I left when someone would post their earnings and people would call them a "liar", it got ridiculous. lol After I left the forums I went to hit hoarding. But yea, if I mentioned "razorbacks" a lot of old timer's would probably crap on themselves. lol
