Slow day today, but...

Thanks to Mturk earnings this month I am able to pay off the new gutters I had to unexpectedly (and not budgeted for) have installed this week, give my oldest son monies for his marriage and his birthday AND meet all of my other financial obligations without taking a dime out of savings.

On days when turking is a pain in my ash, I remember how helpful those hard earned monies are during months like this.

He was at Burning Man, popped over to Reno and had a civil ceremony, let us parents know they did that. Then had his "social" ceremony at Burning Man. Only one parent could make that ceremony.

That's what we thought. I haven't even met her! She's from the UK, where they met, and they were back east in the US until June. Then left for BM in July so and we were planning to meet up after that...so...I get to meet her for the first time after they're married!

I'm ok with it. I just want him to be happy and to know all of his parents love and support him. He's a completely unconventional child, so I'm not surprised or upset.

His sister, however, feels a bit peeved at him for being left out. Which is her right. Siblings have a totally different dynamic!

And that's your right to feel that way! Talked to my oldest kid about her feelings and how/should she express them to her brother. Not the easiest thing, but her feelings matter, too, and they are close.
