10/02 - Money Monday

I was going to keep it going but couldn't post in time before the joke was ruined. Oh well.

 

OMG Banks suck This is F-ing ridiculous

So my oldest is currently unemployed and has no money in his checking account so wasn't going on and checking the balance or anything. Then he gets a letter from the bank saying he has a 100 and some $ negative balance he calls the bank and apparently there was an $11 charge from amazon that incurred and overdraft fee and then when that wasn't addressed in 5 days an additional $6 per day extended overdraft fee was charged to his account, He called amazon the admitted it was an error and refunded the original $11. He then called the bank and they would not do anything to stop the bleeding unless he filed a police report and pressed charges against someone. They then continued to charge him $6 a day until his father drove up there today with him and did manage to get them to stop charging the fee and close the acct but he now owes the bank over $200. They told him he would have to contact Amazon and get them to pay it. (like that's going to happen). Seriously I could see expecting Amazon to pay the initial NSF fee but at some point the bank should be responsible for stopping this. First off he called and told them there was a mistake and the bank could see that Amazon reversed the charge. And even if that had not been the case $^ a day overdraft fee is ridiculous. I know a lot if not all banks do that if an overdraft is not cleared in a certain period of time but I think that is absolutely ridiculous.

I love Tom Petty, had 2 songs of his on my moving playlist. I used to listen to my dad's tapes as a kiddo and fell in love with a lot of music slightly before my time. I don't think it's unusal for people to enjoy good music from before they were born.
