10/02 - TurkerView - Return That HIT! Warning/Review API

I hope for your sake you don't catch a reject on this one. A lot of us got rejected yesterday.

 

I think it is indicative of the economy as a whole. It's not altruistic to raise wages, it's business. Right now companies are having a difficult time hiring and retaining employees, especially low wage jobs. The companies that can afford it must now raise their wages to attract new employees because there are a multitude of options now.

Also it doesn't change anything for me. I'm still unemployed, but I am also moving soon and then going back to college after that. So I'm not really a part of the labor force.

 

Remember too that research takes time and that approval for research funding takes more time. If research starts in August, I don't expect to see a survey about it until November. They'll spend all spring semester analyzing that data, too.

I think that we got fucked out of a cycle from that bot drama. We hopefully will see it start to pick up again but we have to wait for projects to get approved ect ect

Yep. I agree. I just said the same thing in another forum. That if it's undergrad research, don't expect to see them ready for data collection in September. Grads, tho, they don't stop collecting research so months don't matter to them. Notice how Stanford posts consistently? Grad students of profs doing research. Has nothing to do with an undergrad academic calendar.

This is true, but also there are more undergrads than grads, even when you consider that not all undergrads do research.
