No I had an SSD that failed in June and had it replaced, which is why I was hoping that may not be the case. Haven't dropped it since It's been pretty stationary.

is the ssd not a valid boot option in the bios? it's just not there anymore?

unplug it, plug it back in?

 

And if that is the case, is it likely to be able to pull the data from it somehow? I haven't backed up since August and really need some things on there. The newer one isn't an SSD, I just had the repair guy give me a disk drive because that's what he had and I really needed the comp back because he had it for a couple weeks already.

Happened to me once when I was dicking around with partitions. Somehow managed to crudgeoned the bootup partition that windows makes. I was able to put lubuntu on a thumb drive and followed some dickery on the internet to fix it with no issues.

Probably not really relevant to your situation but sometimes it's nice to be a voice on the world wide web.
