Hey yall! New at this. Sometimes I get close to exceeding the time remaining of a hit. If I go over does this count against me in some way? Is it better to return it than exceed that time limit?

A hit expiring is basically the same as it being returned. It doesn't matter either way.

There is technically a qual that tracks it differently but it isn't ever used anyways. Hit abandoned vs returned basically.

I can think of one time (can't remember requester's name) that my return rate disqualified me from their HITs.

 

I normally write a note in the space for the code that I started their HIT too late and I need to submit so it won't expire on me, and that I will email the code when finished. Then after I finish, I send the code, expanding on the earlier message and apologize profusely. I don't think I've ever been rejected doing that.
