Well, I got myself a fresh cup of coffee and am deciding on dinner. Y'all made me hungry. I've also just found out that Cafe Amelie delivers! They apparently serve really good poutine.

 

I've started back doing mturk after work and it's kinda relaxing. I'm already not doing much more than watching tv after work so might as well make a few dollars while doing so to help with the bills.

There's French show I was watching about their spies in 60s or 70s and they had these Quebec independence guys come over and did a whole bit about them speaking a different language. I need to watch that show again, it was decent.

That's basically Parisians, which even other French people don't like. Leave Paris and people are very friendly. I used to work for three French immigrants at a bakery. A couple that managed the restaurant and kitchen that were so nice, but the pastry chef was a total dick. Used to throw shit and scream at us just about everyday. I don't understand how anyone could be so mad with baguettes and chocolate croissants laying around, plus who the hell has that type of energy at 4am? I'll let you guess which one was from Paris though.

Makes me think of the many shows I've watched (American shows) where there's a French person talking and you (or maybe more I) can easily hear it's a Quebecer (and vice-versa).

I know it's more of a cliché/stereotype at this point, and yes, Parisians are the worst, but I've met enough people from different areas of France (some from Bayone, others from Picardie, others from Lorraine, etc) that agree that the French are particularly good at complaining!

 

So basically like Spanish and Latin American Spanish. Or American English and Fake English.

I wouldn't be able to tell for Spanish (only have partial basic understanding from 1 class 15years ago), and for English, I want to say that Fake English is closer to American English (expect for some very deep regions of England) than French is to French Canadian!
