10/12 - Thunderstruck Thursday!

I use Chrome. Based on a discussion a couple of days ago., I use both links below. If you "collect" in www on a hit, it does NOT automatically "collect" that same hit in worker. I run both, but seem to get more hits in worker, but I retrieve and work the hit from my www page.

I think you're right about aggressively blocking as opposed to filtering by TO, and I am going to start that process now that you put it that way. I've typically set the TO filter pretty low to account for the inaccuracies, but I can definitely see the logic you're laying out.

Just for reference, though, even when you do filter on HF, unrated requesters sitll pop up (they're just grey instead of colored).

Ah ok, that's why I said 'depending on the script' because if I'm not mistaken MTS will hide everything below the TO threshold you set (unless kada changed it after he said he wasn't going to? )

 

I'd still love the option to filter my results based on average completion times reported on TV, though.

 

??? Do you think I flagged you or something? I didn't.... I'm just telling you the most common flag on there. If you got approved on work, or the work is pending, and you mark the fair as 1, you get flagged. It is flagging you because the rating for fair is saying they rated you fairly, as in, you completed the work and was paid, regardless of pay per hour. The money per hour rate isn't "fair", that would be under "Pay."

 

It might be possible to actually create a cached DB of HIT completion times from TV's data.. it'd only really be useful for surveys that are reposted but it could be included as a field in a potential scraper. Hm.

I agree about the TO filtering. I caught a $15 hit the other week that had a 1 TO rating because the reviewer said it was underpaid. It only took 20 minutes. lol

 

IMO, it depends on how fast you can read. I'm slow, so I only do them if there's nothing better dropping. Others bank on them, I think.

As a reminder, I've changed how the hits work a bit. It's been dragging on a lot (Monday's hit just finished yesterday), so I changed the hits to put out 125 hits at $0.06, instead of 150 at $0.05. Not a huge change, should work out to the same amount in the end, but this will get it done a little faster (as well as give you all an extra penny. Don't spend it all in one place!).

Another reminder: I only put out hits Monday and Thursday. The hits may extend to other days, but those are the days that matter for quals. If you didn't win Monday and you see a hit Wednesday, you'll still be eligible on Thursday, because that's when the new batch goes out. Likewise, if you win on Thursday and see a hit on Sunday, you still won't be eligible Monday because that's the next batch. Hopefully that makes sense.

I got some AMAZING feedback from everyone, thank you so much. I've already made some changes due to it, and I'm hoping to further refine with feedback I get throughout the month.

Eligibility

I decided to go with the same eligibility scheme. You can only win every other hit. Meaning that if you win, you will be ineligible to accept the next hit, but you will be able to accept the one after that. That's the best way to balance fairness with availability and number of hits.

Structure

I took some people's (unexpected) advice and dropped the pay in favor of having more hits available. There will be 150 hits at $0.05 each, for a total of $10.50 per hit, and $94.50 for the month excluding halloween. Halloween will be its own hit. I'd like to release 150 of those as well, with pay determined by how much I have left over and in the donation pot. Right now it's looking like it'll be around $0.17 each, though that may go up if additional people donate and/or if I get any more money to throw into it. For reference, $0.10/hit is $21, $0.25/hit is $52.50, and $0.50/hit is $105. Right now I have around $40, so if you want to increase the pot for everyone, look below for the URL.

Frequency

I'm going to be posting on Monday and Thursday, within the 12:00PM EST hour. People seemed to be the most active this time, and that was the two times I got most reported as "available" without complaints on my survey. This was the only "surprise" hit, hopefully it was still fun!

I finally caught a 1.12 c-sats again (after months of trying)!

 

I've always submitted as soon as I can tell, got the qual last year, no issues.

 

Gee, I was only kidding when I said I'd do anything for that qual....

 

better check it, the ones I got just a bit ago were all borked.
