What kind of question is that? Wtf? She was obviously walking on the Moon and ran out of supplies, so had to resort to eating cement to survive.

 

The Canada one makes no sense to me, either since one could truthfully answer either way.

Yeah, the weight differential when I re-entered the atmosphere is what got me.

 

The "Canada" question is a filler to get you into the mood of "have you been here? Have you been here?" It's not an attention check.
The "Moon" control question would be less effective if every question in the block was an attention check-they're trying to test a high level of attention, to ensure you're not randomly answering or lulled into a routine.

Those are both basic attention check questions on the basic version of Qualtrics Surveys, mostly effective for culling Bots and Cement-eaters.

The Paid/Professional version has options for better ACs, and they tell the creators that "Some workers may be familiar with the attention checks" and to use a different, unique question that integrates logical text from your previous questions.
