Settle with the hospital for a one time cash payment negotiated by your lawyer. You end up paying $100K-$150K.

I don't even have regular insurance. I have a health savings plan and accidental insurance. Fuck paying all that money and still having a deductible and cap.

We don’t pay the premium >.>

Love you current health insurance. You da bomb. Sorry matt railed you with his accident this year.

But also, yeah that. I had several million ran up when I was 19 and didn’t have normal insurance. I negotiated down and I still have like 9k or so left to pay off? But, I avoided bankruptcy and certainly DID NOT pay the millions. I’ve paid off way more over the past few years, but I was legit paying less than 100 bucks a month with all the various hospital and medical bills and I had SO MANY cause you get the hospital bill plus the anesthesiologist bill plus the cardiologist bill and on and on and on. A lot of them would come to me and say like “ if you pay x amount, we’ll write the rest off,” and a bunch have just given up after I’ve paid like 5 bucks a month for so many years and wiped the rest of my balance.

I still straight up wanted to vomit when I saw the copay for my FILs fancy immunotherapy drug is gonna be 12k tho. WTF HEALTHCARE. %]%}+#^] !!!?&@€##%#

    Uhm. No. He would not.

    We have it tho, luckily.

But yeah, shit sucks. They don’t bill you later for stuff like this, they demand it up front. It’s kinda like when Bearnie was literally dying and his bladder was about to straight up explode and they would not fix it until my credit card processed the 1400 bucks the night hospital demanded for his surgery and stay up front. They waited till it processed too. Bearnie was SCREAMING the whole time and I was so shaky I could barely get the info out of my mouth.

    Yay.

I still eye twitch over the bill for “ inhalation services” they sent while I was still in the icu.

They threatened to send me to a creditor, while I was still in the icu lmao.

Matt’s ER bill was like 35k and then all the other bills came in. So glad our out of pocket max was like 2400. The ambulance company , naturally, doesn’t have any insurance they take for in network, so the insurance still got that down to like 350 for us but we’re really lucky our policy has out of network coverage for that stuff.

I'm sorry you're going through that </3. I've cut off over half my family just for the simple fact that I'm done with people not trying to keep in contact then get pissy at me for not doing the same and trying to tell me how to raise my child.

Uhm. I dunno but if you find out, that would be cool. I’d love that policy lol. Let a bird know!

We have the employer provided hmo policy that insists I should take a different don’t puke 7 times a day poll than I find most effective lol.

Not complaining tho, cause it’s better coverage than I’ve had in a long time.
