I know it's hard. I have mental illness issues myself. You are correct that it's not her fault that she is like she is. None of us can be blamed for things that happen when we are kids and can't change our situation/take care of ourselves. Just try to love her. She might think she has days or weeks left on earth, and while that may not be true, she will be gone at some point. I'm glad she had children because we get to have you around as a result.

Seemed like I was reading about my own mother here tbh! She had a lot of the same behaviors. I was finally at my breaking point with her drama. She checked herself into a mental hospital. Mostly for the attention of it but surprisingly it was a turning point for her. She was diagnosed as bipolar and put on some strong meds. They really helped to stabilize her. She got herself off opioids which she had been on for a decade because none of the Doctors would prescribe them anymore. I know how draining it can be to deal with people like this. My only advice...you need to decide if it's worth it to keep that level of toxicity in your life. I cut my mom out for over a year while I was pregnant with my youngest because it just wasn't worth it. Good Luck!!!
