I have both text me a code and email me a code as an option and neither work, it just gives me this:

now they're telling me it's going to be 1-2 BUSINESS DAYS before I can get into my fucking account!

Really? Damn. I've never seen that issue before. Didn't you say the other day someone kept requesting codes or something? Wonder if that triggered something on their side. Hopefully they can resolve it quickly, I'm sorry. I assume you tried calling?

I understand your problem but I really have to have a part number to order a replacement because along with the electrical particualrs there is the barrel connector to consider

That one is inexpensive cause it is used it's a "working pull" meaning it was doing okay when they got it in

 

Does that have something to do with pin size?

Yes that is the outer shaft diameter, inner, clearance and pin. What model dell do you have?

 

Looked up in my Dell account because I did buy a new charger shortly after I got the laptop. They don't list it, just the laptop. Do you want the part number of what Dell says is compatible, I can give you that.

 

Ok thank god I got it fixed, but if you have 2 step verification turned on, turn that shit OFF for now. They're going to call me back in 1-2 days so I can explain the problem to them.

Thankfully because my amazon.com account is shared with hubby and I, I could still ask them to text his cell the code, and that got me in enough so I could turn the stupid thing off, which allowed me to get back into my account.

Yes, it's stupid screwy at the moment. Twice now, yesterday and today, I got about 15-30 texts in row saying "Your amazon security code is ___" And then when I go to log in, it asked me how I wanted my code sent, and yesterday it wouldn't text me, but it would call me, and today it gave me "internal error" for both calling and texting me. Thankfully it would still text hubby, but it seems like it's a one and done option.

So I highly recommend turning that crap off until they figure it out.
