Now that one is actually pretty accurate, the number fluctuates between 40 and 50 percent if you consider outliers, but without outliers you are looking at a little under 40 percent with an actual decrease in the last 5-10 years. First marriages NOW are actually more likely to last than 20 years ago, and that's primarily because people are marrying later, with more options for not getting married in the first place. You're more likely than ever to see a long term couple who hasn't gotten married, and on the flip side, a couple who was together for 30 years say fuck it, I'm done dude.

Mind you, the percentage of unhappy couples has been a fairly constant thing through time, and if anything couples have an overhall higher happiness now, because their is less pressure to get married asap in the first place and stuff like couples counseling has become a more available and less socially stigmatizing thing than in, say, the 50s/60s when they were telling housewives they just had hysteria or the blues.

I could elaborate on the contents of like 30 studies all day if I wanted, but I have a job and cats to feed!

I think batch reviews are utterly worthless and probably always will be unless you attach the script used to the batch/review. Scripts are just too broken and 99.9% of people don't know how to write them.

Really, the only thing I use TV for is to get the completion times of surveys in my queue. I've yet to find them inaccurate, actually, because the userbase here is pretty homogeneous. I go like 10% faster than ReaRea, and a good bit slower than RA/TPG.

But, yes, the data morphing into something perfect is difficult. Better than what we had? Not so much, since now its at least accessible.

 

Yay! I defy the standard odds.
1st marriage: Dated 7 years before marriage, together 2, separated until divorce 3, for a total of 5 years married, on paper.
2nd marriage: Dated 1 year, married almost 4 years now.

I also did the 2nd one relatively backwards. Together 1 month, we ended up living together by happenstance (she hated when I left for the night so I just started sleeping over. Giggety!), bought a house together after 1 year, conceived a baby, got married.

Yeah, I was absolutely sure after the completely disastrous 1st marriage that this one was definitely the right one.
