11/02 - Speedy Saturday!

Friend from Austin is now banned from decision making by the group for the rest of this trip in his hometown. Why? Cause he picked a breakfast place that gave 3 of us food poisoning and he picked a LITERAL CRACK DEN FOR AN AIRBNB and we are now at a hotel.

oh, and then my pet sitter decided that my pets only need to be fed once a day even tho she’s being paid to feed them twice a day (among other things that she clearly isn’t doing when she was in and out of my house in under 15 minutes). I had to send a neighbor over to confirm that she hadn’t even refilled either of the water bowls, let alone let my dogs play outside long enough to actually do their business before she left.

They all call me anal retentive about vacations and how I do too much research and plan too much, until half of us have food poisoning and we’re all paying way more than we would have to book a hotel during a formula race (which we are here for, and thus booked everything months ago...except they insisted I let them book the place.)

Between this and the insane red eye flights and the fact the person in charge of the parking FORGOT, they’ve all just willingly given up control to Mommy Dearest, cause I may be high strung, but we always have such nice trips when I pick the places!

This trip was specifically the trip where I was supposed to relax while Matt & co made all the decisions for once. It was supposed to be so relaxing and mellow and I’m currently typing this on the bathroom floor, waiting for the zofran to kick in so I can go to the Lewis Hamilton meet and greet half dead. I’m confident the rest of the trip will be ok...right? The worst is over?

Possibly. hopefully. I like to research and plan so I know fall backs if winging it/hostels/"friends" couch's gets too strange but I have to say there have been more than one trip where it was all going wrong, I flipped to plan B and ended up in a hotel and everything was gravy after that. sometimes a reset is all it takes. fingers crossed for ya!
