When I was younger (aka like 16 until recently) I had taped cardboard to my windows and used black tape.. Then I pinned a blanket to the window, then my shades, then curtains. No light ever came in. It was great.

People would spend the night and wake up at like 4pm and be like it's still night time??

I had black out curtains but I think they were cheap. I mostly did it because I was on 3rd shift too, and just cause F daylight. Working 3rd shift ruined my sleep schedule for life I swear.
