Um... I live in Maine... going to guess that "cranberry sauce" was somehow labeled side or side salad in this poll.

I can attest to the fact that they put cranberries on and in literally everything. Even in chocolate chip cookies

I've been here over 20 years and have never seen one person eat a salad at Thanksgiving.

 

I probably haven't, but I just can't get behind green beans. They're one of the few vegetables I don't like.

Please let's not speak of that.

Deviled eggs is a weird one for me. I like them, but they seem super out of place as a traditional Thanksgiving side.

 

God I love those canned heaps of dough. My mom (RIP bless her heart she tried) would serve them to us at dinner most nights with a bowl of melted butter to dip them in.

Okay that doesn't make it any better. That canned cranberry slop should be used only as target practice at the range. I love REAL cranberry sauce made with fresh cranberries and grand marnier.

 

Ah! Try replacing the green beans with asparagus if you like that. Though watch out for the stinky pee afterwards. I enjoy the asparagus casserole a lot too and it's made nearly the exact same way.
Deviled eggs are an amazing side but they can't touch anything else on the plate. Like they should get served on their own little side plates.
