11/12 - The Siege of Sunday!

On this note, one little trick that seems to still be relevant is:

Take special care that your landing page keeps visitors engaged for some amount of time.

Google tracks the amount of time it takes for a user to "bounce" from a search result back to other search results, and if the user didn't spend much time on your link, then Google thinks it might've been irrelevant for that query and scores it down a little bit as a consequence.

Quickly clicking others' links and then quickly bouncing off those pages through a private trusted VPN was one of the methods I used with IL to beat a lot of my competitors in SEO for long-tail keywords, and subsequently roll around for $15K months in what was a very lucrative market until they pulled the plug on their program altogether.

A lot of the tricks come down to asking yourself:

"If I were a search engine, how would I know which pages a user wants to see, and which he doesn't?"

 

Same. Homemade by Honeybear wins me over.

 

My only concern with Homemade by Honeybear or Handmade by Honeybear is it's limitation when trying to link it to my larger plan of offering services to plan parties to stressed out mom's who's families want large parties to celebrate little timmy's 1st birthday, but are just too frazzled to figure it out on their own.

 

That sounds like you're trying to take over their party. I get your intention, but that's not how it comes across.

 

I agree with this too. "My products" sounds too....... something. Too not enticing.

I would absolutely bet a large sum of money that $200/week lands someone close to the top % of Turkers. This forum is ridiculously skewed towards high earners lol.

Just browsing this weeks posted its 28 people sub $200 to 22 above $200. So making $200+ already puts you in the top 40% of our membership who are even willing to post their PE.

 

what I'm going for is basically this:

"I get it, you want a fantastically flawless party with every detail thought out, but who has time for all that? Either buy my stuff that I make for you and decorate yourself, or if you're local enough, I'll do it all for you and you can just enjoy a flawless pinterest ready party."

Somehow I want to get that into a business name.

I just lit my mouth on fire with a bag of sour patch kids. I'm going to go die now.

 

So just shorten it to "Honeybear".

Three birds with one stone:

- Eliminates the mouthful,
- Common words that people can hopefully spell,
- Lets you pick a name that still sounds kinda cutesy.

 

eating too many sour patch kids is comparable to eating too much Cap'n Crunch...

 

Somehow that reminds me of a light novel title.

Does it look weird that I'm spelling it "Honeybear" vs "Honey Bear"? I don't' know why, but hubby and I have always written honeybear even though it's wrong.
