If that is at all optimized for multi-threaded cpu use then ryzen will be pretty good for that.

That's the problem. Rendering would benefit from it but modeling does not. So.. in my situation I probably want a 4 to 8 core processor but not anything above that. At the same time though I feel like just upgrading my processor in general would be better.

We hear people on wanting to see improved 1080p performance and we fully expect that Ryzen performance in 1080p will only get better as developers get more time with the platform.

I'll probably do a 4 core because performance in modeling starts to drop significantly after that.

I agree with RA here. I bought mine separately mainly due to the unavailability. And I was buying 5 MOBO at the time but only 3 CPUs for different rooms in the house. On top of my 4 monitors I run a 51 in plasma on the wall for marathons. No hiccups never lags. I am seriously bias towards AMD though I mean I do live in Austin. I have i7 in my Lenovo X carbon and x230 convertible and I hate them, even with 32 gig ram they suck!

    Even intel wants AMD, LOL.

    Just an opinion though YMMV.

Check out the FX series. The 6 is more stable than the 8 due to windows 10 mismanaging the cores. Though that will probably be resolved at some point.

When I was in Austin last year at the maker faire Intel gave me a pen and notebook, so I figured I wouldn't buy from them. Lol

I can't suggest anyone get the FX series at this time. It is kind of a shitty chipset for a lot of reasons and ryzen is actually good. If you are looking at the price range of the FX series stuff right now you should just get intel

I'm running a Intel® Core™ i7-3820QM Processor atm and just not sure how good or bad that is. I've had it for like 5 years in my mobile workstation.

I'm still using an i7-2600 myself. It's been the longest running desktop I've ever owned (6+ years), and I usually upgrade only when I see any kind of system slowness. Your processor's passmark score is slightly better than mine.

Did anyone get a reject on a HIT from last Friday? Sheryl Ball Answer a survey about your opinions. It was a Masters only HIT for $2. Says I missed too many check questions :emoji_angry:

At first I didn't think I was going to hit goal today. Thank you for the evening batch, C-SATS.

Intel HD Graphics seem to suck though. It would be nice to have a dedicated gpu and a larger ssd.

Ugh, what the hell? I don't think I've had a reject (for that reason, at least) since I was a newbie.
