The overcooked collards and boiled cabbage has turned me off of both of those forever. Our mom didn't even buy us canned stuff as kids, though.

Boiled cabbage isn't bad if it's boiled in large chunks and not overcooked

 

I'm addicted to good collard greens. I'd never had them because I'm originally a yankee. Or a good corned beef with cabbage. But dear God do not forget to clean the crock out after making corned beef with cabbage, that's by far the worst smelling thing I've dealt with.

 

You ever cook chitterlings? Better known as "chitlins"?

 

They smell delicious, I dunno what you're on. I love me some good chitlins.

I've had the misfortune of smelling them being cooked. Husbando got my to try a bite and I couldn't swallow it. Just nasty~

 

I used to go on mission trips as a teen and the group I traveled with were from Mississippi. I tell you what, they had those at LEAST once a week. I thought I was going TO. DIE. I swear I lost 10 pounds every trip we took.

 

Oh god I'm not sure what's worse the Chitlins or the menudo can he bought and got sick as a dog from. That's a fucking SMELL opening that.

 

I do not want to hear another bad word said about Marmite on this forum, ever.

 

A thin spread of marmite on some toast with butter is great. I just can't handle a ton at once because it becomes super salty to me. We have marmite in the cabinet right now for breakfasts in a hurry.
