Yes, this. As a social worker but more so as a parent and sister, some people just are not going to get it until they actually HAVE to get it. My brother went on tilt in his teens. I, my mother and other brother did everything to sway him. He stole my rent money once and went and partied it away. He stole cars, and finally ended up in texas prison at 16 for stealing a car while waving around an unloaded gun. He was lucky he got 8 years and not 40. And while it was savage, it was the best thing that happened to him, he has been a stellar husband and father in the second half of his life. I'm not saying anyone is headed to prison, I'm more saying that my mom raised a social worker, an overgrown teddy bear who works with misplaced refugees, and another son who went to prison. We all had rules etc... some people are just harder to reach.
