So, is Edge actually better? I've heard good things, but hesitant to switch. Or is this just a slap-fight between developers? Honest question, because I've had a few HITs that wouldn't load in Chrome but ran perfect in QBC.

 

It's a little less bulky IMO. It's very very similar in terms of functionality because it's built on the same engine. I switched to it from Chrome for turking and don't look back.

 

I have a really bad infection right below where my waistband is when I sit down. a doctor had to give me antibiotic ointment and antibiotic pills for it, the kind for MRSA. so that's why I've been so annoyed that I couldn't get a bandaid to stick to my behind for days. but now you guys also know - use 2 clear knee and elbow bandaids for your behind.

 

good luck getting that baby off....unless you sweat a lot, do it in shower or with some oil.

 

What about scripts? Tampermonkey, extensions, etc? I do Prolific for savings account money, and rely on the PA extension.

 

And it's kinda important bc Prolific money has rebuilt my credit score after 3 years of homelessness.

 

All Chrome extensions work in Edge. You just need to go to the Extensions tab and click on "Allow extensions from other stores" and you can literally install any Chrome extension.

 

Ok. I'll check it out. If it'll keep my laptop from causing 2nd degree burns on my leg, I'll give it a shot.

 

It's not a night and day difference though, so if you're happy with your Chrome setup, there's little reason to switch to Edge unless you're curious / bored / hate Google.

I just want to export HITs. I've come across a bunch that I've returned that I'm not qualified for that some of y'all might be, like being female for a $5/10 minute HIT. I've caught high paying HITs that I wanted to share but MTS's export button wouldn't show up, and that's my main concern.

 

hopefully there will be good hits that stay up for awhile. today was so bad I made $9.

 

It's probably something I did and not the browser, but I found Edge to be a bit sluggish. I keep youtube or youtubeTV open in a separate browser while I work, and it was struggling to maintain 720p. Playback was mostly 480p. The only thing that would make it run faster was turning panda crazy off. I switched to Firefox after that. That's not super relevant to your question, but I figured I'd add it anyways.

 

Is there a thread or subreddit I can search to find more info in this? I've never heard of Prolific, and well I can certainly use a new source of income.

 

Firefox was always data-heavy for me. Youtube would take forever to load then stutter, and that's why I switched to Chrome. No issues with Chrome and Youtube.

Pros:
6 hour timer; plenty of time to complete
Requester's time estimate (25-50 mins, I think) is fairly reasonable
You can take breaks in between rounds if needed
I caught this around 9:00 pm and wasn't working on anything else so, it was worthwhile; I'm not sure I'd have done it during a busy time on mturk, though

Cons:
This HIT is pretty brutal---no progress bar, no clue as to how many rounds you'lll have to play; requires 100% focus, non-stop key tapping (fingers on D, F, J, K), eye strain, etc
This HIT had 7 rounds of a game. The first five rounds each took 4-5 minutes.

Yeah I have no issues with chrome either, my issue was with youtube. My main youtube account is different than my youtubeTv account. Logging into YoutubeTv on chrome would log me out of my youtube account. Using two browsers was a dramatic fix for a pretty minor issue.
