My brother and I spend I think ~$200/mo on food (~$100/mo each) and we aren't just eating ramen.

I keep actual food leftovers in the freezer frozen in individual portions. I don't know why I don't do that with baked goods.....I'm going to have to do that. Especially things like cinnamon rolls and cookies. My mom used to do this when I was growing up and it was so nice!

Sigh, I would find it sexy if the fiance ever cooked. But, he loathes it and will eat ramen and raw carrots and I love to cook all the time so he's happy to let me make elaborate meals all the time and fund my newest obsessions. This is how our casual turkey day for two has turned into the 10 person party day it's about to be next week- if you ever show up at my house I will feed you till ya drop! Actually, if you show up anywhere near the county and look hungry I will probably be waving food at you.

Oh man, I always have coffee cake and garlic bagels in the freezer. And sauce! Love freezing homemade sauce cause it's so easy to heat up on the fly.

Have you tried doing a bacon wrapped turkey based in real maple syrup? That is what my dad has been doing for the past 6? years.

My other half cooks over the weekends. I come home from work during the week fairly early but am gone all day over the weekend at my other job. So I'm the weekday chef and he's weekend chef.

You sound so much like me! A couple weeks ago, Ma sent home a freshly butchered chicken (yes, hobby farm) and I had to cook it. Of course I made it with homemade stuff, corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, and herb bread My friend Joe, came over and said jokingly, all that's missing is cranberries. I whipped out the cranberries I forgot in the fridge! The next weekend I've been up since 5 a.m. baking Banana Bread, Molasses Cookies, and a loaf of bread. I couldn't sleep and was in the mood to break in my new kitchen. I called him about 11 a.m. (we live next door) told him to put pants on and come over. I had eggs and bacon on the table for him too. Despite him complaining I'm going to make him fat, I know he enjoys the home cooked meals. Now just to get him to eat leftovers!

Garlic bagels? Do you have a recipe? Those sound FANTASTIC! And homemade sauce is something I need to get in the freezer again. So quick and easy!

I just realized.. I need to get a better camera so I can take pictures of my food.... That is actually a thing...

I have made some crazy things that actually ended up tasting pretty good but my crappy moto g 2015 camera just makes them look meh.

I'm both ugly and an awful cook, and I'm not single. You just have to have other talents. ;)

I'm actually doing pavochon spiced bacon wrapped turkey legs cause I didn't want to do a full turkey and am making a dozen courses haha. Along with a lamb-pork bolognese and fresh egg noodles. Puerto Rican Grandma on one side, Italian grandma on the other! I did a beer brined, bacon wrapped cajun turkey a couple years ago that was delish. I'll have to try the maple one though, sounds amazing!

We have an agreement that he provides a couple meals by way of bringing me takeout or taking me out for date night. He does whip up tacos sometimes too!

Recently these pilots we know went quail hunting and just knocked on my front door with a couple freshly cleaned knowing I would freak out- fresh birds are the best. Sounds like I need to head to your house for a meal cause that all sounds fabulous!! Luckily my cooking has endeared me to the future mil cause she used to own a restaurant and has basically always done all the cooking so she's always so happy to kick back and let me fuss over her and refuse to let her lift a hand. I'll have to dig out the recipe, I mostly make it from memory, and I usually smash them down a bit so they are more like flat dense rolls but I do the whole bagel process so they get that same flavor and texture. With my Italian great grandma, stirring the sauce was a very intense family responsibility and if she invited you to help you were in for life, so I can make sauce in my sleep now!

Looks like a neat product, but the heating part of cooking is only half of cooking. You still have seasoning and other related things to that. (this thing is prob also really expensive)

Your beer brined, bacon wrapped cajun turkey sounds to die for! I'm going to have to do one of those sooner or later. Though Joe says that I've already thrown him off by essentially having Thanksgiving Dinner early....I told him to expect more of that this winter.

Fresh birds are to die for! I keep trying to convince Joe to go out and go hunting, but he doesn't like killing animals, which is exactly why I don't hunt. But we have so many random birds and turkeys out here and he could get a permit easily. I told him if he killed them, I'd clean and cook them. He's now considering it. I bet your future MIL is thrilled to kick back and let you take over! My mom still doesn't let me do that! Though she is finally allowing me to bring stuff to help out. She still loves cooking and runs a part-time catering business out of her house. Anytime you are in the neighborhood, I'd love to cook for you! Despite being only 33, I'm like one of those grandma's who can't cook a small meal and makes enough for an army!

I'm finally getting back into cooking and having a full kitchen. I've had an extremely small kitchen or a camper kitchen for the past 3 years. I finally moved middle of October and I have a full size kitchen and a full size oven. I'm in heaven now!
