Miss Lurky here. Never heard of anyone being allergic to lettuce, I don't eat it but I can't imagine being allergic to anything, especially lettuce :x

 

How can you be allergic to lettuce? It's just water in plant form.

 

Hi, so, there's a protein that runs through lettuce and people with a hyper sensitivity to a certain lipid protein strain that runs in lettuce will have allergic reactions. It's called LAC S-1 or something like that . I have bad reactions to most leafy greens and things like celery, which also shares a protein strand with surgical adhesive, so I have to use paper tape a lot or I get huge rashes.
