I am in the latter. I cannot image how having a touchscreen would make it easier or better. Please explain.

Second this. I got a cheap iPad so I could remote into my desktop with it, originally to be able to work away from my desk but I find myself sometimes sitting at my desk with it so I can use the touch screen for certain hits.

I'm pretty sure it's a 15" (I'm at work don't have it in front of me to check). It has built in 10-key which is mandatory for me for the work I do so I love that part. Backlit keyboard which is nice.

When I use the "flex" part to use it as a touchscreen I do love how that works.

My biggest Grinch is that the USB ports are all on the side, not the back, so having a USB wireless card and a wireless USB mouse gets a little clunky with the dongles sticking out. I'd prefer them in the back of the computer where I'm not trying to move a hand around using a mouse. I don't use the built in touchpad. And I wish there were more USB ports.

Otherwise, I'm happy with it. The built in wireless card on my model ended up sucking so that's why I use the wireless USB dongle for Internet. But I've had mine for several years now so that could be much better in newer models.

i didn't think so lol. when i saw the price today i was like uhhhhh.

 

And oh. I had a random hard drive melt down issue a couple of months after buying it. I had to ship it back to Lenovo to be fixed, so I had to switch back to my old laptop during that time. They fixed it at no cost to me, not even shipping, so the only PITA was getting it packaged up to ship and waiting for it to come back. But they did it. They didn't charge me, and knock wood it's worked fine since.

once you're used to using a laptop with a touchscreen it gets pretty streamlined. You don't even think it. You just find your left hand holding your screen and your right hand dicking around doing its thing on the keyboard. It's honestly efficient, and I know someone out there on turkerhub right now is reading this and dying to tell me I'm an idiot and wrong, but nope

 

Can you even get a laptop without a touchscreen these days?

Be aware that having a touchscreen makes it $$$$$$$$$ to repair if anything ever goes wrong with it. You may as well just throw out the old laptop and buy a new one.
