Kinda wish I'd kept a pair of these just for nights like tonight:



Stuffed and happy. Spent a good part of today talking to a parrot. This parrot doesn't have English words because before my auntie rescued him he wasn't properly socialized and he can be a butthead. But the parrot likes me. He used parrot language, I used English, he fluffed his feathers, I fluffed my hair. He chewed on a stick, I pretended to gnaw on one outside of his cage. He got mean when I walked away and yelled for me to come back to him, so we had a wee talk about how his high pitched screeching was not appropriate for human ears. He settled a bit and seemed a bit apologetic.

Then a miracle happened. My aunt had another parrot who got lost a couple of months ago while she was camping about three hours from here. She got a call that someone about 20 mins away is pretty sure he spotted the parrot. So Thanksgiving ended and she got into her car to go get her parrot. I'm really hoping today brings her a Thanksgiving miracle and she is reunited with her baby! Her son, my cousin (duh), died unexpectedly a couple of years ago so getting this parrot back would really help her out.

It did. Not the first time I've done this in the 11 years I've lived here. Turn on ceiling fans, turn on HVAC fan, open all doors. Airs out pretty quickly.

Well, step 1 was open damper. It had to be open when I started as the fire caught really fast and really well (won't catch with a closed one). Not sure how the eff I closed it!
