Welcome! I'm glad you're enjoying it, but wow, we are? Any time I travel, I realize how rude everyone here is and I get embarrassed. But maybe it's a location thing - I'm in a suburb of Chicago, so maybe people are nice north/west/south/everywhere but here? lol

 

I'm mid-east Illinois in a fairly rural area, so it could be a big town/small town thing. I thought Oregonians were nice, but not even compared to here. Also, it seems like everyone here actually stops to talk to each other; I'm used to "don't look 'em in the eyes and keep moving" Oregon ways. lol

Honestly I empathize with anyone going to do anything at this point. I get the person in your story is probably 2 sides of selfish grinch for every 1 part human but man, I personally absolutely just can't take it anymore. I miss people so much, and the internet only serves to make shit worse at this point.

I'm as introverted as it gets and I've been fine so far, but even I'm starting to get itchy to go outside again. I've been daydreaming about just wandering stores and seeing strangers and casual awkward chitchat in checkout lanes and eating food that I don't cook myself in a place that isn't my house. I miss Goodwill but I can only imagine it's a petri dish of gross.

But I'm also terrified of covid to an unhealthy-for-my-anxiety extent so ...
