    It likely was phishing or something.. I don't see how else it can happen.. but we will get more of the story slowly as shit gets fixed up. ... hopefully.

    I'm guessing they managed to dig through old posts and managed to dox them through that. Like, any personally identifiable information, exif data on photographs, etc. Could have used social engineering to have them reveal things about themselves, too. You get a few blocks and you keep building up from there.

    That's why I try to keep personal information to a minimum. What I've already posted in the past is bad enough. I've tried scrubbing what I can, but there's probably a ton of stuff out there for some Internet sleuth to make a case out of. That's why it drives me mad that I can't edit old posts or delete my account on MTG (unless I'm a huge moron and can't find the button).

    I posted this earlier, but everyone should visit haveibeenpwned and put in any emails they've used or common screen names. Sign up for the alerts, too.

    There was a fanatic on another forum that started posting my bosses' names in the daily hit thread because he googled my real name when he got mad one day, threatening to tell them I smoked weed or something I forget lol (a mod did redact it)
