Definitely file a police report! When my batcrap crazy ex was hacking into my email and other accounts like well...a batcrap crazy person, I had to call my lawyer. It's definitely illegal and save any messages from the ash hole.

The amazon team should be able to completely take care of it. They'll have all the logs to the new email and be able to reverse everything that was done. If your amazon thing is linked to your bank account, i would definitely make sure to monitor that, although i'm pretty sure it ****** most of your bank information when you try to view it.

If you set this up does it apply on all amazon platforms? mturk, amazon payments, amazon.com?

Just tested it on Amazon Payments and it does apply. You use the same logins across all Amazon services, so setting it up once on Amazon.com covers all their platforms.

 

Reddit's good for getting information, but I wouldn't post anything unless I felt it was absolutely necessary.

 

Do you use the same user name on reddit as other places online? I'm far from an expert but I don't see any way for someone to figure out your account email based on mturk stats.

Sorry to hear that this happened to you, I'm paranoid enough that it's not a bad day to change the important passwords just in case however it happened was seeded through mturk.
