I know how annoying it is when us burb plebs refer to the burbs as “Chicago”, so I make sure to say “Chicagoland” or “nw of Chicago.”

i'm from northwest indiana and there are plebs THERE who call their area chicagoland (granted they are VERY close to chicago but still).

I have this problem with "Kansas City" (I live closeish so it's where we go when we want to go anywhere)

To me, the entire area spanning over Kansas/Missouri is all just "Kansas City"

To my daughter's dad, however, who grew up there, all the places actually have names. I'm like nope, too complicated, it's all Kansas City.
