11/30 - Waypoint Wednesday!

Bought my mother a iPhone 5c, AT&T has been giving me hell for the past year regarding her account.. trying to figure something out that doesn't drain my bank account.

Fi is amazing if you don't use a lot of data. You can't bring an IPhone to it though, only Nexus (Nexi?) and Pixel phones IIRC. You may be able to get a cheap unlocked Nexus 5 or 6 nowadays though.

 

My mom is tech illiterate, unfortunately.. barely grasps the iPhone. aaaannnnddd her phone comes with my brother's phone (data HOG).

 

I use a lot of data on it, but its via WIFI not Cell Data so it cost nothing. Also poor cell signal in my Apt., so I also use WIFI for phone calls.

 

Ah, okay. Fi is $20 a month ($15 if you're on a family plan) plus $10 per 1gb of data a month. You can use WiFi calling/data though, which is nice if you aren't out and about a lot.
I can see your mom using an Android phone being a problem though, if learning IPhone is pretty tough.

cricket wireless cheap plans 8g right now for 45 a month I believe , and you can bring your own phone, 10 for sim card I believe..they also use att network so probably save coverage, or even possibly a simpler phone. they have decent deals going now.

This all started because of an idiot at AT&T clicking the wrong thing. She called to remove a damned tablet from her plan... bozo removed her phone instead. Set her up on a one month (comped) "pay as you go" plan until she can drag her ELDERLY ass to a town an hour away to have the physical location fix the problem OR me take off of work/school/work/work and drive an hour to pick her up and an hour to the out of town location to get it fixed (this would end up being what happens as she is ELDERLY and doesn't know her way around that town). They "cannot fix it remotely and this option is the only one" MTHRFC*(&@$&@#(*$&@*&#$^

 

And I usually get most of that $10 back each month because I don't use the data.

On a side note I enjoyed taking a break from mturk to watch some anime with my brother..but back to mturk

 

I killed the first section of choosing between 2 genres and thought it was going to be a fun hit. Then comes the usual mcdermott brain fuckery and the next 11 sections (23 trials in each section) are listening to a 2 second clip mixed with background noises and ranking your top 5 genres from a list of 41 options. It's not even clicking bubbles; they give you a list and you have to type in the corresponding numbers.
