It's cheap here which.. probably speaks to the quality lmao
This is actually what I was curious about.. me? I'm like I just want to be able to run sting operations or just go grab her (or not drop her off at all on days I feel like chilling w/ the villain) but seems like a funky thing to do from the business's perspective (ie, the daycare) lol.. not sure if that's normal or not

    Pros:

    Daytime sanity
    Kind socialization
    Easier jump into school

    Cons:

    2x cost of mortgage.

    Things to ask:
Vaccination policy: aka, do you require other parents to believe in science?
Is there any reduced rate if we're going on vacation for a week and don't bring the kid?
Staff turnover rate. High turnover rate is bad for the kids because they're very routine oriented and need stable caregivers.

    Things to look for:
Check the rooms, is there a variety of stuff to do, lots of books, etc. Does it look run down, etc. If you can go when other kids are there, keep an eye on how they interact with the kids, that kind of stuff.

As long as you're paying them for the day, most won't mind. Especially at this age. When they get a little older and have activities planned and things of that sort, they may want some kind of heads up, but by then you'll know.

Sell everything you own to afford it.

Beig a single mom and no help i didnt have a choice. If you go that route talk to provider and other parents. A tour of the facility is a must.

Daycare likes it when you pay them and don't drop the kid off. They usually don't have a problem getting money for no work on their part.

    @ChrisTurk
Add "security methods" to the things to ask policy. Who can pick up, how do they verify, are there cameras, is the building entrance secure?

Some will do this. That's what I did with Kiddo. He only went 2 or 3 days per week when he was younger and came to work with me the other days (or my Dad and Stepmom watched him). Once he got to preschool age, he went 5 days per week for that. I found a loving, home daycare that was also a preschool and came with many recommendations. It was actually someone a friend of mine had used years prior, too, and I "knew" her for years. It was the best decision for my kid, and I made a lifelong friend. When the daycare provider's son got married, we got an invite to the wedding, it was that close.

I was only charged part time fees, I didn't have to pay for full time if I didn't use it full time, so it never hurts to ask.

Pros: kids learn socialization, which is important. Cons: you'll miss your kid like nothing you've ever missed before in your life. Get recommendations from other people you trust if you can.

This is me with my cousin's kids, but mostly because they're loud when they go about doing their little kid business, not because I dislike them. They're good kids, but please stop being so loud.

Not for me. I still look forward to picking up my kid from school every day. Some days he's a cranky butthead, but doesn't change that I look forward to seeing my cranky butthead.

My kid and I get along really well, though. We fight, don't worry, we're not completely abnormal and he's a teenager after all, but basically we like each other.

    Pros:
You and your wife will have some downtime. Especially good for her to have time to be herself.
Little one is still very young but later it will be good for socialization. I didn't do any daycare or babysitting with my little one and it took awhile for him to adjust when he got to be school age.

    Cons: $$$
She will be a germ factory
You have to deal with the idea of her being in someone else's care which can cause anxiety.

Hope this makes sense it's not easy typing around the giant Chippys on my phone lol

On the pro side of this, you get some of the immune system build-up out of the way before kindergarden.

Don’t feel rushed to do it if it can be avoided but get her into something by the time she is three. My mom is a kindergarten teacher and says you can always tell the ones who never went to any kind of child care :emoji_joy:
