12/04 - Miscellaneous Monday!

"Spoonfeeding" is the mTurk colloquialism for someone else "feeding" you good HITs.. Evoking the imagery of a baby (lazy Turker, aka me) who is too stupid to find their own food (work) so their parents (good Turkers, aka not me) must force feed food (work) down their slovenly throats.

Ryan Mallett (picture in gif form) is a mediocre backup NFL QB who is most known (to me at least) for showing up to a college exam unprepared, standing up in the middle of the exam, and propositioning his classmates with a hearty

"WHO'S GOT A SCANTRON FOR RYAN MALLET?"

Presumably because an NFL caliber college QB is "big man on campus" & his ego clouded his better judgement in that situation (..if it ever really happened, which I choose to believe it did).

I combined the two in an attempt at humor to disarm workers who become perturbed by folks who sit around and go "where dem batches at?" in order to perhaps jokingly garner favor with someone who would then feel a social bond with me and spoon feed me fire batches.

It didn't work, but I did successfully pass the Art Detective HIT to @NBadger so now I have plenty of time to low quality content message while waiting for her to do the HIT & report the time on TurkerView.

This entire post is an asinine shot at myself, sorry if it comes off sarcastic, I googled no less than 4 words in the above paragraphs to make sure I used them semi-correctly. I'm 80% sure one is still wrong but I like the way it sounds so it stays.
