12/04 - Miscellaneous Monday!

Sometimes, having extensive past experience with a person locks you into always perceiving that person the same way.

She may have been like this in the past, but by projecting the past into the future, you're guaranteeing that this person will never change, at least from your perspective. Because even if they make effort to change, anything ambiguous will be distorted through the lens of past experience.

A good example is mothers and their adult children. A lot of mothers have a really hard time recognizing their adult children as adults, because they always remember 5 years of you not being in school, another 5 years where you're still losing teeth, 3 years of being a brooding teenager, 5 years of having your first experiences with BFs/GFs, first job, etc.

 

Well when I have a panic attack mine has gone like 230 over 110 and used to they didnt worry so much about the top number but now they do cause it can cause aneurysms and stroke

 

Mine was in the 140 range on the top normally

 

It funny though - you put me in front of a monitor for a web conference and i will be out in like 20 seconds

 

I mean. It was a tat of the cowardly lion, right?

 

I have a blood pressure cuff from when I was having frequent BP/fainting issues.

I haven't used it in a while, but I'd bet some money that my systolic BP spikes up to 160 when I jump on /r/mturk.

 

Meanwhile, today I ate a bunch of sugar at once, and panicked that maybe my blood sugar was finally spiking super high and I would eventually get the diabeetus. It was 87.

Whew. Amirite?

 

I honestly wish that was the case here, but I can guarantee that isn't the case with her. I'm the person that constantly tries to believe the best in everyone, but after so many years I had to see her for what she is and accept it. And it isn't just myself that thinks so.

 

They always have the guy with the voice like the teacher in Ferris Bueller - Bueller, Bueller

 

Same thing with CBT's - I don't know how I made it through some of the tests i had to take for certifications. I mean 4 hours with a break at 2 - that was crazy
