Circulating water fountain. They have a bunch on amazon for like 35 bucks. 11/10 get one. Cats prefer circulating water and it can cause major urinary tract issues if they don't drink enough- that's how I got that lovely 2400 dollar bill for Bearnie. Scratching posts and stuff for them to climb/hide with are a must. I have these little shelvey thngs so the cats can jump up the walls and stare at us from above like little weirdos and I have stuff for them to hide inside/play with. Also can highly highly reccomend a furminator or even one of the knock offs because it really reduces the crazy amount of shedding.

Oh, probably also a duh, but you put a question mark after litter box so who knows the bounds of cluelessness... you'll need a scoop/sifter thing for the litter.

Also I don't want the baby to be allergic to cats so figure it's better to introduce her now

 

If it's going to be indoors only, get a scratch post. Preferably a tall one that has a sniper tower seat and you put it in front of a window so the cat doesn't jump on all of your other furniture to look out of windows (note: this does not always prevent them from doing so, but it helps).

They sell for like $3.50 for four of those in pet stores, this is way more economical.

Cat treats. So you can bribe them to do stuff that they'll promptly decide they won't repeat doing.

COVERED LITTER BOX to control smell. Don't get those open air ones. You'll regret it. And a litter scoop unless you want to just use a shovel.

Cat bed.

Catnip. Sprinkle it on cat scratch area, watch cat roll around in it and snort it, eat it, watch cat act stoned. Amusing.

Dry and wet catfood.

Feeding bowls and a cute mat to put underneath them on the floor.

Collar

Flea and tick stuff (like Bravecto or something).

Visit to a vet for an initial check to make sure kitty is fine and has all shots.

 

I put the litterbox in the garage and put a catdoor in the laundry room
No smell. No mess. Easy clean up
