Has he tried recycling thrift store sweaters for yarn? He can get some nice material that way for cheap and he can sell the yarn by itself too if he wants to.

"I will block you if you do not answer this question as a normal, English-speaking human would. Lots of bots and mturk farms out there, you know."

I now just see a dimly lit room with computers buzzing as like 30 people fill out penny surveys while some overseer whips them for not making a better hourly.

Ever since he started earning an allowance at age 6 I made him split everything he earned three ways: 1) spending money, 2) gift/in service to others money, 3) long term savings money. He has three banks on his bureau that he divides the cash into. We haul the long term savings to the bank often (or, I steal the money from that bank because I forgot to go to an ATM and need cash and then I just transfer what I stole into his bank account from my bank account).

So he's been saving since age 6. He has good cash. He still has to save more before college, I'm requiring him to have many thousands in that account if he wants me to pay for stuff, and he's mostly on track for that.

Just kidding. I really did love my uncle and loved being with him on the farm. His wife on the other hand...well...I'm glad my sisters got stuck with her most of the time. Most of my scar stories started out with "well there I was getting off the tractor, or there was this cow..." Lots of good memories with him. :ba:

So you mean like unraveling sweaters for yarn? Hm. Is that doable?

Both of my grandmas died in the last few years so he got some yarn that way, and I gift him yarn for birthdays and Christmas. I am going to start going to thrift stores to see if I can get cheap yarn.

Plus, I legit just went to Joann's where they had all yarn at 25% off. Then they let me stack a Michael's coupon for 25% off my total purchase, plus I had a $10 off $45 so I saved a bazundle.

But I am going to look into that thrift store sweater thing if they're cheap enough. they might be more expensive than just buying yarn on massive sale.

This parenting tactic scored me my $85 slippers last Christmas. They're expensive, I adore and love them and won't buy them for myself, but guess whose kid had enough in his gift bank to buy them for his mommy????:emoji_joy::emoji_joy::emoji_joy::emoji_joy:
