    The thing about me and books...swiss cheese memory.

    I've read Gone with the Wind no less than five times. I adore it every time and forget 85% of the book as soon as I put it down.

    This is either a good thing (I can re-read awesome books tons!) or a bad thing (waiting a year for another book in a series to come out means I need to recap the first book(s)).

    So I seldom make connections between writers and stories/styles unless something is a direct rip-off. Like plagiarism.

    Sometimes I'll be reading a thing and then I read a thing that's like influenced by or whatever and then I'm always like "hold up, wait a minute." Always kind of interesting when you're reading your favorite childhood books again.

    @morweeg

    Should have seen me during the Harry Potter years. I legit had to have friends remind me of, for example, the first four books when we were waiting for the fifth to show up. There was no Wikipedia to sum things up for us back then. So my friends did it for me because, like, I couldn't re-read four books just to read the fifth.

    This is the (non-annotated) copy I have on my wishlist, because this series of leather bound books looks really fancy.

    Harry Potter was interesting for me. I read the first book when I was like 8 and the final book when I was 17. So I kinda grew up with Harry, I guess. I guess the kids who started with the movies also grew up with Harry. Kind of a weird cultural phenomena when you think about it that way.

    I like to pretend I've "outgrown" Harry, but I'd defs sit down for the first three movies all over again.

    What does anyone think of Rothfuss? I really enjoyed the first two and the book he put out about the maybe schizophrenic girl that lived in the sewers under the school. I don't know if he'll ever write a third book though.

    I'm too cool to like popular things. Also, most large fanbases annoy me, because, as I said, I'm too cool to like popular things.

    not liking something just because it's popular is no different than liking something just because it's popular. like what you like. <3

    Also, I don't think JK Rowling is that great of an author.
