What are Z's?

 

I can't even bring myself to read the thread because I know exactly how it'll go.

"I made $10 in my first 30 days therefore everybody can only make $10 in 30 days!"
"The requesters are just scammers who want your email address" and/or "don't pay" and/or "want shady work done"
"Anytime I see any well-paying HIT it's already taken. No I don't want to use scripts."
"I'd rather _____ [fill in the blank with some random task for pennies]"
"Anyone who makes good money on it is scamming or lying."

GRANTED, mturk is definitely not for everybody. Trudging through the 10-day probationary period, building your numbers for number-related quals, learning how to do work that high earners are already proficient in, not to mention the learning curve for how to use multiple scripts to catch the work you want. It takes actual work to make it work. These people expect to just sit down at their computer and make a full paycheck immediately. I've been on mturk for years and only really sat down to figure it out this year. Pulling $300-$400 a week with two other part-time jobs is hardly something to scoff at.

Yeah, that's how I felt reading the thread myself. I don't pull in as much as everyone else, but I also don't work as hard as everyone else. I think thats what people don't see. If you don't do the work for mturk, then its not gonna pay out and your expectations are too high.
