It's because the times have trained people to feel that way. A couple of generations ago people cared about privacy of the mail and personal space and time. Now everyone posts all their shit on facebook. We are also now to a point where we have adults that don't even understand that there was once a world without the internet.

When you indoctrinate people from the time they are 7 years old that email and social media are awesome and you can do all this cool shit by clicking your phone etc etc, this is what you get.

As George Carlin once said. We are way to fat and happy in this country and way to prosperous. No one questions anything anymore because everyone has a cell phone that will make them breakfast and rub their balls for them. No one questions anything when they are happy. Americans have been bought off with gadgets and gizmos.
