Anyone know how the shipping from steam is like?

 

Is it slow? I haven't checked what the shipping cost ect is either... I was going to grab one of the steam controllers though

 

Took me about a week and a half to get a Steam controller from them several sales ago. Shipping was $8 for me.

I'm curious if folks disagree with me but tbh, I don't want times for quals/demo surveys at all. Even if completed. They totally fuck up a Requester's profile and are not indicative of the Requester's actual pay rate. See:

Like yeah, eventually his profile may recover, but I'm not about that because anyone who knows GWF knows he takes care of workers.

If he has an actual project that blows (image annotation was kinda crap for me, but then he fixed it and it was good) that's one thing.. but quals? Like how else can he (or anyone else) even use mTurk reliably w/o qual HITs? And if mTurk's platform actually functioned to where qual tests were robust / useful qual HITs themselves wouldn't exist so it really makes no sense to review 'em.

Ditto on all counts for demographic/screener surveys. People lie their asses off so they're really the only viable option nowadays without ripping 10x the amount of money out of the payment pool to pay amazon for demographics. No reason to report times on them that funnel into aggregate data

 

ETA: I realize in a perfect world we'd be handsomely paid for qual tests, but from a budget perspective its totally unsustainable. The failure rates on qual tests is absurd. You cannot reject them or your entire account with be brigaded, so you'd be paying $10/hr+ for 95% garbage/blank submissions/didn't even attempt to read the directions b/c the workers know you can't reject it/etc etc.

..its bad IME lol.

 

Just had a thought - makeup/compensation HITs shouldn't go into TV either, since they're usually just 'enter your worker ID', then submit, which could result in a false reading of $5940 /hour rating lol.

 

I just started watching it today randomly. CT's censorship of himself makes a lot more sense now.
