    I would start with the original. Yeah the special effects are from the 1960s,but those three characters Kirk, Doctor McCoy and Mr.Spock had such great character interaction with each other that it is worth it.
    Plus Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock is the Star Trek boss as he is Star Trek.
