Oh that sucks. I feel this. Saturday after errands and thought I was all done for the weekend I parked my car and was unloading when I saw a shiny round spot on my front tire. Nail.

Dead center, though, so it could be repaired. While I was hanging in the tire store waiting room watching Football someone next to me ended up buying two new tires because they had a screw go in right near the sidewall, too. I was grateful mine could be repaired!

Screws/nails happen, but the fact that they're practically brand new is a big kick to the inbetweens. Oh well. Kinda wish i paid the 20 bucks a tire for hazard protection.

I wonder if they require you to buy the protection on all 4 tires, or if i could just buy it for the 1 and if i get another screw, just pretend its in the one i bought the protection for. I doubt they'll allow that. Seems way too easy to take advantage of.

I've never bought the protection. My tire place fixes nails for free for tires you buy from them, but I'm sure I'd have to pay for new tires if they couldn't be repaired!

It does suck they were so new. As you said, screws and nails happen. Heck, I've gone in to buy new tires and been told I was driving around with nails in the tires that I was completely unaware of as they weren't causing flats. But to have it happen on a brand new tire? yikes. ouch. especially this time of year!!!!

 

I had something similar happen to me and the manager added protection and replaced the tire but pretty sure I had to get the protection on all four tires, which was totally fine.

It wouldn't hurt to ask them.
