it’s useless anyhow. It’s like anytime you go to a doctor or take a car to a mechanic I can’t get it to recreate the problem when I want it to...yet.

So we had to take in plants from outside to keep them over winter. We had a new Rosemary plant in a pot that was doing REALLY well. We split some plants between windows due to space. I was to take care of the laundry room plants and the husband was SUPPOSED to take care of the back room plants. Come to find out the fucker HADNT WATERED IT. All the others in the back were succulents so they are fine BUT THE FUCKING ROSEMARY IS MEGA DEAD.

 

AMT can be a shit sandwich, but they've got the worker pool, the requester pool, and the (not exactly full) full power of Amazon behind them.

Trying to be the next AMT is pointless imo. Does it have problems? Yeah, but so does Google.

Trying to chip away at a niche? Some potential (see: that British shitshow that shall not be named). But it won't be "move over AMT"... it'll be "get ready to give up 0.5% of your gross rev, AMT".

AMT is objectively trash in both of its main markets. Both of its main competitors in each market absolutely dumpster it. The main AI field competitor is worth orders of magnitudes more than AMT lol.

Barring drastic unforeseen events AMT will not exist in 2025.

 

Is there a place I should keep my eye out on to jump ship when it happens? I really fucking love this as a job and would be willing to swap platform come the end times.

No. The AI field monetizes itself by securing US replacement workers from 2nd/3rd world countries they can pay 1/1000th the wages and get quality results, and the quality of those markets is exponentially better every year.

They're legitimately good at what they do. Not saying there isn't a ton of grift embedded into the company, but they execute well. They built what AMT => AWS is trying to build w/ SM/A2I/etc years ago. You know A2I ends in foreign workforce majority to compete *points to the "totally ethical" rollout of foreign payments*
