Leaking? or ice damming? When it gets cold af around this season, ice can build up on the roof and build up under shingles where it then melts resulting in water into your home. Check your gutters. I got a text from my girl last winter with "our cabinets are leaking!"

I'm fortunate enough to be able to turk while at work. The only sad part now is that we decided I'm not turking anymore after our wedding and when that comes and goes, I'll be sitting at my desk bored and will have to find something else to do. Probably take up reading again and find a bunch of ebooks.

Work has been so slow for us too. I touch maybe 5 files a day tops. I'm tempted to buy a Switch so I can play Zelda at work. I need something to do otherwise I get very counter productive. When turk is slow too... I go absolutely crazy in the work place. People often say "i wish i was bored at work and had nothing to do." No you dont. Its excruciating to sit 8 hours a day twidling your thumbs.

Honestly. When you become a home owner and find water in your basement and the simple solution is to just clean the gutter. Its VERY satisfying. Both free, and takes minimal amount of time.

The solution is for the landlord to just have set schedule to send people out to do do stuff like that to prevent it from costing him/her money. In some states tenants aren't supposed to do stuff like that for safety reasons anyways.

Correct. But thats what an umbrella policy is there to cover should they get hurt. You really can't stop a tenant from trying to fix things on thier own. My issue is tenants wont tell me when things are going wrong. Like a water heater leaking water. Like... You didnt seriously think water heaters are supposed to leak on the basement floor did you? "But i didnt want to bother you!" Dude. Now you dont have hot water until I can get a new water heater in there because you chose not to tell me. If shit goes wrong in a rental, tell your landlord. It saves everyone a headache.

I have one house where I have to literally change thier kitchen lightbulbs for them. I mean... That's common sense stuff. THAT you can do on your own.
