12/29 - Frantic Friday!

Man, if it paid all of my bills and left a little extra for savings/funsies, I'd totally bag groceries for the rest of my life. Hopefully that dude is in the same boat.

I was a nerd who did musicals At least in the bigger town I could socialize with other musical dorks and there were so many folks who dabbled with that I had a good bit of friends. The small town didn’t have a music program at all and I was ahead of the curriculum (my dad impulse bought a house out of state out of nowhere, literally while on vacay) which wouldn’t totally be an issue except everyone knew each other from birth and it was a small town who disliked outsiders. Even now, If I show up to see my dad, someone will still shout that I’m ugly Bird or some shit. I got along relatively well with a decent variety of people where I grew up but after I moved I was never so happy to be leaving for college.

Throw in my dad’s anger that I was weird and a nerd and not the homecoming queen, and I don’t go back anymore. The last time I ran into a guy who pulled a prom prank on me, he didn’t even recognize me and tried to buy me a drink, thinking I was some cute girl he was gonna flirt with. I had a good chuckle.

Oh well. We both clearly turned out super awesome

 

It's possible actually. My wife and I want to move back to Durango, but the housing has gone up a ton. I can live a simple life, maybe not bagging groceries per say, but not worrying so much like we do now.
