The support on that website just basically told me to throw all responsibility to PayPal, which I've never encountered before and it felt a little odd... hence me being a little unsure.

My state requires anything over $600 USD to be reported, and they always lead me to fill in a 1099-NEC myself each year regardless if I received something physical or not.

Yeah I know what to do now, thanks for the insight on this.

I feel a lot better than yesterday but good god this Dayquil is taking forever to kick in. At least I can read my screen and answer questions. I performed embarrassingly bad on the math HIT yesterday before I realized I had a fever and needed to sleep. I'm surprised I didn't get a slough of rejections on both mturk and Prolific after that mess.

Lesson learned: Do not turk when you have a fever.
