NYC literally had the world's worst air quality today which peaked at 342.

Here in Washington DC, the air quality reached 196 and currently is 179. At the National Zoo, they've already moved the great apes inside due to a 2-week-old baby gorilla whose age makes it more unhealthy to be outside. They're considering moving other animals inside as well. Staying my butt indoors bc I've got asthma. Furthest I'll be going in the next few days is to the grocery store and CVS that's only a block away.

It has been pretty bad here in western New York the past couple days. They shut our zoo down completely today. Staying inside with my kids until this clears up.

Yeesh.

I guess the only positive thing is the memes about it. Particularly the dystopian video games and South Park "Blame Canada/Canadian Devil" ones. Still obviously wish that there weren't any wildfires to begin with, especially ones this bad.

This requester has a very serious problem with their own work. It is not ANYONE else's. It is hers and I am done with it. The first time I took two fake rejections from her saying that I didn't fill in the criteria and I thought OK I even doubted myself even though I was pretty confident otherwise that I didn't do such a thing.but I ate those like trash. With respect, it sounds like both this requester and this worker could stand to take at least a small break from mTurk.
While this certainly isn't particularly professional behavior on the requester's part and it makes sense that the worker is angry, it's extremely unusual for a requester to start out on mTurk this way. Usually this kind of response takes place in response to having received quite low-quality work over a long period of time. If @KelKoval78 is confident in the quality of their work, that's fine - but it doesn't seem like the requester's distress over poor work would include Kel then, which makes the overwhelmingly personal reaction surprising.

This is mTurk. As much as it's not right for any worker to be treated like a faceless number, it does happen and will happen. Better to block much, much sooner than to get this worked up over 50 cents. even if this is a batch - the time you spent raging could have been better spent looking for other work

 

If Jury Study T is still available to you on connect it was super quick. No videos or anything - 30 minutes for me.

 

I agree...one rejection and I don't go back (unless I think it's possible that I might have messed up). I have to admit, I was also a bit taken aback by the response as well. I've done a few hundred of those HITs now and (knock on wood), I haven't had an issue. And the latest group actually has an additional attention check added. Also, worth noting is that in different versions of her hits she changes some of the answers you are supposed to give. So you have to be very attentive to which type of HIT you've caught .
