    it depends. i have a smart tv, but it leaves much to be desired. some of the apps are okay (youtube, netflix, plex) but some suck balls or aren't compatible with certain things. for example, the hulu app doesn't have hulu live tv capabilities, which i'm considering getting and cutting the comcast cord. there are also a lot of apps i use that aren't available on my smart tv that are available on there. it all depends on what you use, what your tv can do, and what you want.

    i got the og one from a friend who was just like "hey you want this? i have no use for it" and tossed it at me. i let it sit on a shelf for a month before i hooked it up on a whim, and i've used it every single day since. i'm actually excited for it to be upgraded, and usually i don't care about stuff like that.
