I love cats and a little thankful it wasn't mturk hits because I would be upset more with that car dealer (and myself for buying my daughters car there) because I spent the morning going there because her car had a check engine for a transmission on the 4th DAY of her owning it. I called them and said I am dropping this off and you need to fix it! Then on the way back she got called into work so I had to rush back her, let her throw on clothes and get to work (her school cancelled its 1st day due to mold issues) , and finally I stopped to tell my neighbors hi and well a good 30 minutes or more later I got out of there so I am just now starting work period..sigh.

 

When played casually they're just games. When they're played in a serious and competitive environment for money(or just prestige sometimes if Valve hates your game), they're eSports.

 

Erica came up behind me just now (wearing headphones, couldn't hear her) and was watching me put together the stuff for tomorrow and told me she wants a divorce because I'm so weird

What's the difference? A NFL game would technically be called "competitive gaming" as well. Not sure why people are so dismissive of eSports as if they don't understand video games can take skill and effort too.

To add, similar to "real sports" which I also love, these guys are in the top 0.01% of their game in the world and often have training schedules similar to regular athletes.

I think it's just evolution of the word. In the past, sports generally referred to games that required physical ability and athleticism.
